Many Waters Mission is a ministry to the American Indians, located on the border of the Navajo Indian Reservation in the San Juan River valley. Don and Lynn Cartwright are missionaries assisted by their family and many others in bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They have been working here since 1979 and provide food for the hungry, clothing, building materials, Bibles, and training in the Word of God.
In 1981 God placed them in the middle of an area where there were only a few Christians, hungry for God's Word. Most of the people were adherents to the traditional religion and were struggling with alcohol and drug addictions, broken families and great poverty. It was like going back a hundred years in time; no water, electricity or convenience. Eventually they opened a rescue mission and began to work with people in many different areas of the huge reservation. Today youth groups and church work teams answer the call for "laborers in the harvest", building churches and repairing buildings and doing VBS, open air services, and whatever is needed in the huge mission field of the American Indians. Some send gifts for needy families for Christmas and others spend time in prayer for the many needs.
